250 New Jobs for Waterford City
Green Party TD for Waterford, Marc Ó Cathasaigh welcomes a jobs boost for Waterford with the announcement by Infosys BPM of an expansion which will see 250 new jobs brought to the city.
The new centre in Waterford will provide voice support, customer service and technical support operations for large global enterprises. The new roles will cover several functions across various job levels – from customer and technical support roles positions in the areas of finance, HR, planning, and capacity management.
Welcoming the announcement, Deputy Ó Cathasaigh said:
“The announcement by Infosys BPM that they will create 250 new jobs in Waterford is another vote of confidence for the city, the county and the region. We know we have a very talented workforce in the county and this investment will build on that to create sustainable jobs in the growing and thriving IT sector here. Waterford provides a quality of life and opportunities for a work-life balance that are hard to replicate and I wish the Infosys BPM team the very best with this expansion.”
The 250 new roles in Ireland will build on Infosys’ recently announced 1,000 jobs in the UK.
“The company has committed to developing a highly skilled workforce in Ireland and it is encouraging to see that Waterford is forming a key part of this strategy. This will bring a significant boost to the region and it’s encouraging to see the recognition of Waterford as a suitable location for inward investment.”
